Who We Are

Creative Stranraer is a charity based in the Southwest of Scotland which focuses on supporting innovation and change in the historic town of Stranraer, and the surrounding areas, using art and creativity to engage with the community and as the driver for change.

What We Do

Using creativity to connect people with their local environment, Creative Stranraer works in partnership with local and regional organisations to develop new opportunities and projects, encouraging communities to take part in the culture and enterprise to support a new vision for town.

Our Mission

Our mission is to use the creative arts to connect, empower, inspire and upskill our community, raising aspirations, building self-esteem, reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing.

Creativity, community and placemaking is at the heart of a revitalised Stranraer and the Rhins; the creative sector thrives, and everyone can take part in Creative activities and the future of the area.

jennifer buchanan

Manager

Jennifer was brought up in Stranraer and comes from a background in Fine Art and Education. She has always believed in the power of creativity- not only as a means of personal expression but also as a powerful tool for connection, healing and community growth.

Her work reflects a deep commitment to fostering inclusive, creative spaces where people can explore their identities, tell their stories, and build meaningful relationships through the arts.

Savannah Crosby

HUB Coordinator

A resident of Stranraer, Savannah is a Photographer and Filmmaker. Her photography work is rooted in storytelling and localism, aiming to connect people with their surroundings, taking her audience on a journey.

Her belief in the beauty of Stranraer and her aim of connecting with the town’s community are perfectly placed in her role in Creative Stranraer. Savannah looks after the day-to-day running of the Creative Stranraer HUB and works collaboratively with the team, local creative freelancers and the community to develop a series of creative activity programmes that support connectivity, collaboration and innovation.

You’ll find Savannah in the HUB every Wednesday – Saturday, so if you want to know what’s on, want to share ideas, or just fancy a chat, pop in and say hello!
