Have Your Say: Stranraer Marina Expansion Project

Have Your Say: Stranraer Marina Expansion Project

Have Your Say:
Thursday 28th November 2024,

16:00 – 20:00,
Millennium Centre, 75 George Street Stranraer, DG9 8DX

At our Vision + Action meeting on Monday 11th November, Lauryn Steel, Economic Development Officer at Dumfries & Galloway Council, shared an important update on the Stranraer Marina Expansion Project. As part of the presentation, Lauryn extended an open invitation to the Statutory Consultation, which will take place on Thursday 28th November 2024. This is a valuable opportunity for the people of Stranraer to help shape the vision for the redevelopment of the waterfront.

“It is so important to me that this project really delivers everything that all of you want it to, and that all of the people of Stranraer want it to. So, my ask would be that, if you are able to attend the event, and if you can tell your friends, family, neighbours, and anyone else who is interested and would like to be involved in that process—please come along and tell us what you think. Because, really, it is so important, and we can’t deliver the project without having all of your input into that process.”

Lauryn Steel, Economic Development Officer, Dumfries & Galloway Council

How is Creative Stranraer Involved?

Since November 2023, Creative Stranraer has partnered with The Stove to deliver an innovative community engagement and consultation program, funded by Dumfries & Galloway Council. Led by Artist-in-Residence Maya Rose Edwards, the project featured a series of thought-provoking activities across the town, including Raise the Sails. Through these initiatives, Harbourland aimed to place the local community at the heart of Stranraer’s future vision for the Waterfront – read the story so far.
